You just installed UnSafeExamBrowser and activated your key. Before you start your first session, here are five things worth knowing that will save you time and stress.
The single most important thing to remember is the exit shortcut: Shift + F12. It works the same way to exit the application and to go back during a session. If you panic and forget how to leave, this is the answer.
Don't make your first launch the same moment your exam starts. Run UnSafeExamBrowser at least once in a low-stakes setting so you know what to expect: how it looks, how the keys feel, and how to exit.
On many laptops, the F-keys are mapped to media controls by default and require Fn + Esc to toggle them into function-key mode. If Shift+F12 doesn't work, that's almost always the reason.
Save the activation email or copy your key into a password manager. You won't need it again on the same machine, but if you ever reinstall Windows or migrate to a new computer, you'll be glad you have it.
